POSTER BOARD DISPLAY INFORMATION
After you have finished your model, observation or experiment, you will prepare your poster board for display. This is the MOST IMPORTANT part of the Science Expo project!
Your poster board will be the “teacher” that will tell all about what you did and what you learned. People will be able to understand your project just by looking at your board.
So what should be included on your board?
*Your NAME and GRADE LEVEL on the TOP EDGE of the project board!!!
* A title (could be creative and “catchy” to get people’s attention)
* A brief statement or question that describes what you wanted to learn from your project
* A short description of the materials you needed to do your project (a bullet list is fine)
* A short description of HOW you did it (this is called the “methods” section)
* Your measurements and/or observations or a photo of your model (unfortunately we cannot show videos at the Science Expo) and how it works. (This is the “data” or “observations” section)
*A paragraph that explains what you learned or what your model is supposed to show. (This is the “conclusion” section.)
*There are examples of poster boards on the internet. The above picture is just an example
Your poster board display should be neat and easy to read. Color and clip art can make it attractive but mostly it should be easy to understand. People will usually spend just a few minutes looking at it so make sure it is easy for them to see what you want them to know. Large print is helpful for the titles and bold print is good for the conclusion.
Your poster board display should be something you are proud of. Even if your experiment or model or observation did not turn out the way you wanted or planned, you can still make an impressive poster display if you put time and effort into making the best display you can.
